Ready To Rewrite

I’ve gone through my first draft with a red pen and redid the outline, and now I am ready to jump into my second draft. My plan is to keep the marked up print out of my first draft next to me, open a new document, and start writing draft two. Every sentence of draft one will be analyzed and rewritten, every scene will be reworked. Just thinking about it is daunting!

But that’s ok, because the dogs are going to help me. Here is Gabby (with her new summer haircut) with my first draft.

gabbydraft1She’s got her pink and blue pens and she is ready to line edit! Or just chew on the corners a little.

  1. Ha ha I love little helpers!!! I so envy you right now. I'm working on my revisions and I'm only a few pages in and already I feel defeated. I think I'm looking too much into it but having never revised before I'm usnure!!! How long did you go through your first run? I like the method you have, it's something I've been trying to do myself but you've already completed it so I already consider you more knowledgeable!

    GO YOU... and GABBY!

  2. Good luck with your revisions! I think we all need our furry little helpers to keep us from pulling our hair out as we're doing it. I've gotten some serious headaches since I've started revising.
